Summer school registration for high school students entering grades 9-12 in the Fall of 2026 is now open!

​As we head into summer break, we want to thank you for all you have done to support our schools, students and one another this year. ​ ​Summer can be a time for rest, connection and new routines. We also know that time away from school can bring added stress, isolation or uncertainty for some students and families. We want to make sure our community knows that support remains available throughout the summer.

The Olympia School District (OSD) is leading an exciting new effort to reimagine early childhood support in our community. In partnership with the Washington State Department of Commerce, Olympia has been awarded a Child Care Partnership Grant (CCPG) to increase access to affordable, high-quality childcare. The project will examine the possibility of offering licensed child care in district facilities.

Olympia School District is building the 2026–27 budget amid declining enrollment and rising costs. The district’s budget page includes the February 2026 enrollment, staffing, and budget update; the 2026–27 enrollment projections dashboard and equity and staffing allocation (certificated instructional, classified) documents.

The Olympia School District is offering free lunch this summer for children 18 and younger. ​ Meals will be served from 12 to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 22 through August 14. Lunch will not be served on Friday, July 3.

The Olympia School District Board of Directors has approved the 2026-27 school year calendar. This calendar includes only districtwide holidays and events. School-specific events are not included, so be sure to check school websites/calendars for specific school-related events and activities.

New and renewal transfer requests are now being accepted for the 2026-27 school year. ​ Any student wishing to attend an Olympia School District school outside of their assigned area—including new out-of-district applicants and those seeking renewals—must apply for a transfer. Parents or legal guardians can submit these requests through our transfer application process.
